Logistics Specialist III 

 

Introduction: 

As a Logistics Specialist for TGCS Worldwide Operations Division, you will oversee data analytics and reporting, including budgeting, forecasting, financial analyses, and logistics operations metrics. You will support supplier management KPI/ SLA metrics reporting, procurement category management, and work with stakeholders to drive continuous improvement across production and logistics operations. You will provide data analytics and reporting subject matter expertise and align with senior leadership to drive efficiencies and improvements across a supply chain network spanning over 45 countries.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze financial and other data, including revenue, expenditure, and operations reports to support category planning, logistics optimization programs and executive-led strategic initiatives
  • Manage Service Level Agreement (SLA) / Key Performance Indicator (KPI) metrics data collection, reconciliation and reporting to measure, control and benchmark procurement processes including creation of recurring metrics reports to drive continuous improvements in the operations network with suppliers and with internal stakeholders
  • Align with suppliers, Finance, Accounting, Treasury and Procurement to understand budgetary targets by enhancing methods of measuring and defining savings, value among other category metrics
  • Using input from the Planning, Engineering and Production teams, build logistics budget forecasts
  • Confer with Procurement and Logistics Operations stakeholders and management to ensure successful functioning of newly implemented systems or procedures
  • Customize dashboards and views of procurement and logistics data feeds when requested
  • Interpret data on logistics elements, such as TCO, distribution, mode usage and routing guide compliance
  • Analytics lead with logistics suppliers (asset-based, brokered, NVOCC, 3PL warehousing, freight bill processors, global trade management) to review data feeds, inspect for accuracy, drive continuous improvement programs in reporting
  • Super User of procurement analytics platform and subject matter expert for logistics operations team

 

Required Skills:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain Management, Data or Computer Science, or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years' experience in procurement with familiarity with categories such as logistics and complex indirect categories
  • 3+ years of experience in supply chain operations in the technology and manufacturing industry
  • Experience with modeling unstructured data from various sources, financial statement analysis, and time series models.
  • Experience developing and maintaining relational databases, Master Data Management, Predictive Analytics, Data Dictionaries
  • Oracle Accounting software knowledge (e.g. ERP, P2P, A/P, A/R, G/L, Supply Chain)
  • Business Intelligence/Dashboarding (e.g. OBIEE, Tableau, Power BI)
  • Data Interfaces (API, EDI), Master Data Management, Data Normalization
  • Procurement analytics and supply chain management technologies (e.g. Oracle WMS, Jaggaer, Mercury Gate TMS)
  • Relational Database and data warehousing development and maintenance
  • Experience with XML, SQL programming
  • 3+ years' experience using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, including but not limited to data normalization, data analysis using pivots and V-Lookups, H-lookups, nested statements, dashboard

Preferred skills:
  • Experience developing and maintaining relational databases, Master Data Management, Predictive Analytics, Data Dictionaries
  • 3+ years' experience in vendor management, including SLA/KPI reporting
  • Training in procurement, vendor management, and managerial accounting
  • Fluent in Spaninsh

 

Soft Skills/Other Knowledge:
  • Stakeholder Management - Adept at creating executive level reporting and presenting findings as needed.
  • Collaboration across functions, regions and management levels - creating and sustaining credibility and rapport across accounting, IT, finance, inventory planning, production planning, global trade management, supply chain operations, procurement, suppliers and legal.
  • Economics and Accounting — Knowledge of accounting principles and practices (IFRS, GAAP) and the analysis and reporting of financial data.
  • Active Listening — Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and facilitating action planning along with execution.
  • Critical Thinking — Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • Influencing / leading teams without actual HR authority.
